Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026: Dates, Tickets, Entertainment, and Everything You Need to Know

Published by Walt's Weekly | April 28, 2026

The wait is over. Disney just dropped the full date lineup for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026, and if Halloween at Magic Kingdom is on your family's bucket list, this is the moment to start planning. Tickets go on sale in just a few weeks, party dates sell out every single year, and the 2026 season is already shaping up to be one of the best yet. Here is everything you need to know, straight from the Disney Parks Blog announcement.

What Is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed evening event held at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It is not included with regular park admission. On party nights, the park transforms after sunset into a celebration built around Halloween costumes, exclusive entertainment, trick-or-treating, character greetings, a parade, a stage show, and a fireworks spectacular. The event is designed to be family-friendly and genuinely fun for guests of all ages, not just children.

The "not-so-scary" name is intentional. This is Disney's version of Halloween: playful, colorful, theatrical, and full of magic. You will see the Headless Horseman ride down Main Street. You will watch Cinderella Castle get transformed by projection mapping into a haunted house. You will collect more candy in one night than most people see in a full October. And you will do all of it surrounded by thousands of guests who showed up in their best Disney costumes.

For families who love Disney and love Halloween, there is genuinely no better event in the world. If you are still deciding whether to build a full Walt Disney World trip around this event, our guide to choosing the right Disney resort hotel for your family is a great place to start planning your stay.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 Dates

The 2026 season runs from August 7 through October 31, spanning three months of select evenings at Magic Kingdom. Not every night is a party night. The event takes place on specific dates only, and on those nights the park operates under a special ticketed format after 7:00 PM.

Here are all the confirmed 2026 party dates:

August 2026 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30

September 2026 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27, 29

October 2026 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31

That is a total of 34 party nights across the season. In August, party dates fall on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. September follows the same pattern with the addition of one Thursday date on September 24. In October, party nights occur on most Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays, plus Halloween itself on Saturday, October 31.

Walt's Weekly planning tip: If you have flexibility, the August dates tend to have lighter crowds than October. Our full guide on the best times to visit Disney World for fewer crowds breaks down exactly which months and weeks see the lightest attendance across the entire resort. The October 31 Halloween night is the most in-demand date of the entire season and typically sells out within hours of tickets going on sale. If Halloween night is your goal, set a reminder for May 12 and be ready to purchase the moment tickets open.

When Do Tickets Go on Sale?

Ticket sales open in two waves:

Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green can purchase tickets starting May 5, 2026.

All other guests can purchase tickets starting May 12, 2026.

Tickets are available at Disneyworld.com/Halloween or by calling the Disney Reservation Center at 407-934-7639. Pricing varies by date, with October dates typically priced higher than August dates due to demand.

Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club Member discounts are available again in 2026. If you hold either of those memberships, make sure you are logged in when purchasing to access the discounted rate.

Walt's Weekly planning tip: Party dates sell out every year, and they sell out faster than most guests expect. Do not wait until you are close to your travel dates to purchase. The most popular October nights, particularly weekends and Halloween itself, can sell out within days of tickets going on sale. Book early, book with confidence, and let us help you build the rest of your trip around the party date that works best for your family. If you are new to planning a Walt Disney World vacation, our 10 essential Disney World planning tips covers everything you need to know before you book.

Party Hours and Entry

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party officially runs from 7:00 PM to midnight. However, party ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM on party nights. That means you have up to eight full hours in the park on your party ticket, giving you time to ride attractions during the quieter afternoon hours before the full party experience begins at 7:00 PM.

This early entry benefit is one of the most underrated aspects of the event. Savvy guests use the 4:00 to 7:00 PM window to knock out their must-do rides with shorter wait times, then shift fully into party mode once the entertainment kicks off. If you want to know which Magic Kingdom rides to prioritize in that window, our guide to the best Disney World attractions for kids and the best Disney World rides for little kids are both worth bookmarking before your trip.

Entertainment: New and Returning in 2026

Stitch's Costume Trunk Dance Party (New in 2026)

The biggest new addition to the 2026 party is a brand-new show featuring Stitch at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. Stitch has gotten his paws on Lilo's Costume Trunk, and every accessory he tries on triggers a theme swap that keeps the party playfully unpredictable all night long. Lilo and Angel join him for what promises to be a high-energy, ever-changing dance party unlike anything the event has featured before.

This is a genuinely exciting new addition. Stitch has always been a fan favorite at Disney parks, and a dedicated party show built around his chaotic energy fits the not-so-scary spirit of the event perfectly.

Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade

This is the crown jewel of the party and one of the most beloved parades in all of Walt Disney World history. Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade runs at 8:15 PM in 2026, giving families with younger children plenty of time to enjoy the full celebration before the parade kicks off.

The parade features Mickey, Minnie, and their friends in Halloween costumes leading a procession of waltzing ghosts, Disney Princesses, and treacherous villains through the streets of Magic Kingdom. Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph is confirmed to appear in 2026. The Headless Horseman traditionally opens the parade, riding down Main Street in a moment that never gets old no matter how many times you have seen it.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

The Sanderson Sisters are back. Winifred, Sarah, and Mary take the Castle Forecourt Stage in their signature chaotic attempt to cast a spell, and they need help from some of the most nefarious Disney Villains to pull it off. Hades, Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Dr. Facilier, and The Evil Queen are all confirmed to appear, each adding their own dark flair to the cauldron. Guests participate by clapping and singing along, making this one of the most interactive and entertaining shows at any Disney event.

If you have never seen Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, it is worth planning your entire party night schedule around it. The show is that good.

Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks

As the party approaches the witching hour, Jack Skellington takes over as narrator for a spooky story that transforms Cinderella Castle using dazzling projection mapping. Zero leads Mickey and Friends inside the haunted castle while fireworks light up the sky. Ursula, The Queen of Hearts, and Oogie Boogie all make appearances in towering projected form on the castle facade. The show is visually stunning and serves as the perfect emotional close to a night at the party.

The Cadaver Dans

The beloved barbershop quartet of singing ghosts returns in 2026, performing throughout the park in their signature soulful harmony. Catching the Cadaver Dans is one of those small party moments that guests remember long after the big shows are over. They are genuinely funny, genuinely talented, and completely on-brand for the event.

Trick-or-Treating at Magic Kingdom

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party features more than a dozen trick-or-treat stops spread throughout Magic Kingdom, all marked on your party map. At each stop, cast members hand out full handfuls of Mars Wrigley favorites including M&Ms, Snickers, and Starburst. The candy haul at this event is legendary. Guests routinely leave with bags so full they have to consolidate before heading home.

Every guest receives a complimentary treat bag at the start of the party, including adults. You do not need to bring your own pumpkin bucket, though you are absolutely welcome to.

Guests do not have to be in costume to participate in trick-or-treating. However, the event is one of the best costume opportunities in the Disney calendar, and the atmosphere is significantly more magical when guests lean into the Halloween spirit. Disney has official costume guidelines for the event, and the planDisney panel has excellent tips for putting together a creative, park-appropriate costume for every age group.

In 2026, Disney has teased that guests can expect even more fun than ever before along the trick-or-treat trails, with some familiar and fiendish faces surprising guests at stops throughout the park. More details are expected to be revealed closer to the season.

Exclusive Character Greetings

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party features character meet-and-greet opportunities that are exclusive to the event and not available during regular park hours. Confirmed character appearances for 2026 include:

Jack Skellington and Sally are available for meet-and-greets at one of the dedicated character stops. At Town Square Theater, Mickey and Minnie greet guests together in their Halloween costumes. Winnie the Pooh appears in his classic bumblebee costume. Festive royal couples including Ariel and Eric and Aladdin and Jasmine are also confirmed to appear in special Halloween attire.

Disney has also teased that new and returning Disney Villains will appear throughout the streets of Magic Kingdom during the party, so keep your eyes open as you move through the park. A complete character guide with all confirmed meet-and-greet locations will be published closer to the season. In the meantime, our guide to top Disney World attractions can help you map out the rest of your Magic Kingdom day before the party begins.

Where to Stay for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel gives you the earliest access to party tickets (May 5 vs. May 12 for the general public), which matters enormously for the most popular October dates. It also gives you access to Disney transportation directly to Magic Kingdom, so you can arrive at 4:00 PM for early entry without worrying about parking or driving.

Our guide to the best Disney World resorts for every budget covers every tier from Value to Deluxe, with honest recommendations based on your family size and priorities. Food, Merchandise, and Attraction Overlays

Disney has confirmed that the full 2026 MNSSHP Foodie Guide will be released ahead of the season, covering savory foods, sweet treats, and exclusive party snacks available only on party nights. The food and beverage offerings at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are consistently some of the most creative and seasonal items Disney releases all year, and they sell out quickly. Planning your food stops in advance is strongly recommended. Exclusive party merchandise will be available for purchase at Magic Kingdom to commemorate the event. Party-exclusive merchandise typically includes apparel, accessories, and collectibles that are not sold at any other time of year.

Several Magic Kingdom attractions will also receive Halloween overlays with special lighting and music. Disney has not yet confirmed which attractions will be transformed in 2026, but past years have included fan favorites throughout the park. Full details will be released closer to the season.
